P870T lost in Matina robbery

SOME P870,000 worth of cash, jewelry, and firearm were stolen from a house on Aguho St., Juna Subd. in Matina, Davao City on Thursday.

Officers from the Talomo Police Station identified the victim as Dino Demitillo Suelto, of legal age, businessman.

Police investigation showed that prior to the incident, the only persons left in the house were the househelpers of the victim identified as Melody Sienes Fuentes, 18, and Adelfa Datuin Baliwan, 41. Both are natives of Lawis Tingulo, Malita, Davao del Sur.

The two helpers left the house unattended at 2 p.m. as they went to buy groceries at a nearby supermarket.

Upon returning at 3:40 p.m., they discovered that the master's bedroom was already opened and the things inside were in disarray. The househelpers then called the owner who confirmed that the two vaults in his room were destroyed.

Stolen from the vaults were one Rolex wrist watch worth P500,000, cash worth P300,000 and one Jericho 9mm pistol worth P70,000.

Further investigation showed that the robbers gained entry by climbing the front portion of the perimeter wall, forcibly opening the sliding window in the front and proceeded to the master's bedroom and took the said items.

Police are now conducting further investigation for the arrest of the perpetrators.

Fingerprints were extracted from the crime scene but they are yet to be identified through cross-matching.
