Customs Davao posts record-high collection for September

DAVAO CITY (PIA) - The Bureau of Customs Davao District Office surpassed its collection target of P1.6 billion by 120.50% for the month of September.

Based on the data, the BOC Davao District Office collected P3,646, 2777, 302.59 as compared to its target of P1,653,658,115.05. This is the highest recorded monthly collection for the year in BOC DDO.

Port of Davao District Collector, Atty. Erastus Sandino B. Austria credits the achievement to the port’s investments in human resource development to improve efficiency and the commitment of its personnel to continually provide its services with unparalleled competence amid the COVID-19 Pandemic.

“Since the onset of the crisis, we instituted protocols for the safety and good health of our personnel while they continue to provide quality government service,” Austria said.

“I would like to thank them and our stakeholders for this collection milestone for the Port of Davao,” he added citing the cooperation and collaboration of the different stakeholders in the Port.

Revenue Collection Data showed that the Port, including its sub-ports in Dadiangas, Parang and Mati, was able to surpass its September 2020 target of Php 1,653,658,115.06 after having successfully collected total revenues amounting to Php 3,646,277,302.59. This is the highest monthly collection performance of the Collection District in recent years.

According to Austria they have been strictly implementing the policies on the proper valuation of goods, proper assessment and collection of duties and taxes and the efficient revenue collection from public auctions of abandoned shipments, all at the forefront of the priority programs of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B.
