Bosch, global leading supplier of technology and services, opened its first business hub in Davao City on Wednesday.

Bosch Philippines managing director Joseph Hong said that it was only logical for Bosch to expand considering the construction boom in the country, the "sunshine" industry of business process outsourcing companies and the recent investment-grade rating from Moody's.

He also said that Bosch is ready to "grow and soar to new heights with the 87th fastest-growing city in the world."

“In recent years, Davao has strengthened its position as the financial and services hub of Southern Philippines. This presents new market opportunities for Bosch’s diverse portfolio of solutions that we can offer for government services, transportation, real estate, business sub-sectors and property development,” said Hong.

The new business hub will serve as a service center for power tools, a technical training facility and a showroom for Bosch products.

According to the National Statistics Coordination Board, the service sector remained the largest contributor to the economy of Davao at 53% and led the city’s growth at 9.2% in 2012. Davao’s construction industry recovered from 2011, growing by 13.7% in 2012. Davao accounts for 26.6% of economic activities in Mindanao.

Earlier in May, Bosch opened its first business hub in Cebu. Bosch now has market coverage for all three major regions in the Philippines.
