THE Philippine Basketball Association announced yesterday that it will hold its 2013 All-Star Weekend in Davao Del Sur. This will be the first time in the event’s history that the mentioned province will be the host of the league’s annual entertainment showcase.

The 2013 All-Star Weekend will take place on May 1-6 next year right after the second conference, Commissioner’s Cup, and prior to the start of the last conference, Governor’s Cup.

“The 2013 PBA All-Star Weekend will be hosted by the province of Davao Del Sur. The 2013 PBA All-Star Weekend shall be from May 1-6,’’ announced the league in a statement.

Just last Saturday, the league had its first out-of-town game of the season in the said province pitting Meralco and Barangay Ginebra in Digos City.

It was there where the league and officials of the province came to an agreement to hold next year’s All-Star Weekend there.

Next year’s version will have the same attractions and format as last year with the veterans taking on the rookies, sophomores and juniors (RSJ).

Like previous editions, next year’s version will also be a week-long journey for the players as they will do various activities representing the league outside the court as well.
