One of the 10 arrested members of a robbery gang victimizing passenger vans in Metro Manila is one of the most wanted criminals in Davao, police said Wednesday. Chief Superintendent Leonardo Espina, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), identified the "UV Tirador" member as Luis Bondoc.

Espina said that Chief Inspector Ed Leonardo of CIDG-Davao informed the Souther Police District that Bondoc and Rosendo Chavez are one and the same person.

Bondoc alias Kingkong is also using aliases Bolado and Balongong. He is the subject of three warrants of arrest for charges of murder, robery with homicide and robbery in courts in Davao.

”Documents, including the arrest warrants, had been delivered by CIDG-Davao to the SPD. The warrants were subsequently served to Chavez at the Paranaque City Police Station,” said Espina.

Based on the documents presented by the CIDG-Davao, Chavez’s true name is Rosendo Bondok Chavez.

Chavez was among the 10 arrested members of the notorious robbery gang branded as “UV Tiradors” preying on passengers of utility vans in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The other suspects were Princess Losa, Red Marlon Guarino, Ritchie Cahinta, Ludy Dagupioso, Almario Rentillosa, Ronelyn Consorte, Jonnalyn Sarmiento, Janice Brillatica, and Arvin Manal.

As of latest count, more than 50 complainants have filed formal charges against the group.

The police has also discovered the involvement of the group in the killing of Alister Quintos, a security staff of Department of Justice Secretary Leila de Lima last May. Quintos was found dead in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
