Comelec: No vote-buying in Davao City

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao said not a single vote-buying was reported in the city in the concluded May 2019 National and Local Elections (NLE).


Comelec–Davao City spokesperson Krisna Caballero said the conduct of the national and local elections in Davao City went smoothly. She added that no vote-buying has been reported.

“There were minor problems, such as the delayed operation of some machines and few defective secure digital (SD) cards, but these were immediately attended by our staff,” Caballero said.

Overall, Caballero said, the May 2019 election is successful despite the minor problems they have encountered. She also said that the proclamation of the winners here was made within 24-hours.

The Comelec-Davao City also thanked the members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), teachers who served as members of electoral boards, and other government agencies for a job-well-done.
