A LADY employee of a security service agency is facing charges before the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Davao City after she allegedly failed to pay more than P100,000 worth of Social Security Services (SSS) contribution of her co-workers between 2011 to 2013.

Facing charges for violation of the Republic Act 8282 or the Social Security Law is Flora Morales, an employee of the Femjeg Security and Allied Services located at Abecar Bldg. in R. Magsaysay Ave., Davao City.

Prosecutor Oliver Saniel found probable cause to charge Morales based on the complaint filed by NiƱa Marie Sara, account officer of SSS-Davao City.

The complainant, in her affidavit, said she found out that the security agency failed to pay the SSS contributions of 10 employees, namely, Frelyn Calunsag, Teofilo Costanera, Radsme Ladjaalam, Myron Montano, Cris Palacain, Riel Secretario, Arnold Tuico, Levie Jamoner Jr., Bahnarin Salik, Fortuso Maquiling Jr., and Maria Endino.

It was discovered that the company has not paid P75,514 worth of SSS contributions for the 10 employees between August 2011 to June 2013. Sara added P24,793.46 as part of the penalty for non-payment.

On October 14, 2013, the complainant sent a billing letter to Morales, ordering the latter to pay the debt within 15 days. The 15 days lapsed yet Morales was unable to pay.

On December 3 of the same year, the complainant sent a final demand letter to the respondent, yet there was no reply. Thus, Sara was compelled to press charges.

The case is currently being sorted at the RTC Office of the Clerk of Court and is set to be raffled off to an RTC Branch this week.
