'Bukas Kotse' hits jackpot

ROBBERS who prey on parked cars hit a bonanza of sorts after they were said to have ran off with P2 million in cash and several more valuables in two separate incidents on Sunday. The two victims were identified as Windson Ranili Chua, 39, a businessman, resident of 10th Avenue Fortune Homes in Lanang, and Mark Alvin Flores Suico, 23, a document processor, of Ulas in Davao City.

The first incident happened at a parking lot on Arellano Street around 10:30 a.m., wherein an unidentified group of men broke into the Honda City Sedan bearing plate number LGR-547 owned by Chua.

Chua said he was having breakfast in a restaurant at that time. He returned to find the right window of his car is already broken.

The suspects took his P1 million cash in Korean won, one gold bracelet P200,000 and I-phone brand cellular phone worth P40,000.

One hour later, a Montero Sports vehicle was broke into at the Garden Oases Resort in Barrio Obrero around 11 a.m.

Suico said he left a black bag inside his car, which contained P1 million.

Suico, in his statement, said he parked his vehicle at the resort to attend a birthday party.

The San Pedro Police Station and Sta. Ana Police Station are now checking its photo gallery of suspected members of the “Bukas Kotse Gang” and are conducting investigations so as to locate the whereabouts of the suspects.
