Study analysts claimed that traffic signalization, although most popular to the people in Davao, was only considered third most beneficial because of the many complaints lodged by the motorists.
Following the traffic signalization in the popularity list are Central 911 (2nd), People’s Park (3rd), and Traffic Eagle Squad (4th).
The other city projects that gained high welfare rating by the respondents in the survey are Central 911 (2nd), Traffic Signalization (3rd), and Traffic Eagle Squad (4th).
Analysts said the Traffic Eagle Squad is a relatively new program but already popular among the people because of its visibility not only to motorists but to the riding public as well.
Dabawenyos also rated the popularity and trust of city department heads.
The top three most popular department heads are Leonardo Avila of the City Agriculturists Office, Dr. Josephine Villafuerte of the City Health Office, and lawyer Zuelika Lopez of the City Administrator’s Office.
Of the 15 selected chiefs, Avila is the most trusted, followed by Villafuerte and Maria Luisa Bermudo of the City Social Services and Development Office.
IPO director Dr. Maria Linda Arquiza said the institute hopes to see these study results for the concerned city officials to better services and improve government programs and projects.
The study employed a systematic sampling at 95-percent confidence interval using face-to-face interview.
About 100 respondents were determined from each of the three districts in Davao to establish representativeness with the population.
