A 50-YEAR-OLD farmer and his son were shot to death by suspected New People’s Army guerrillas while the two were having supper inside their house in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur, last Sunday. Rudy Dejos and his son Roderick, 25, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in their bodies and died on the spot, said a report from the Police Regional Office 11.

Sta. Cruz Municipal Police Station commander Chief Inspector Demetrius Taypin said they found the bodies of the two inside their house in Upper Malusing, Bgy. Zone 1 past 7 p.m. Sunday.

Taypin tagged members of the NPA’s Front Committee 51 led by one Roberto Castillote, alias Commander Marvin, as the killers of the two.

He said the gunmen opened fire at the two farmers without any provocation with the use of their M-14 automatic rifles.

Combined operatives of the Sta. Cruz police and the Army’s 39th Infantry Battalion are still tracking down the rebels. Taypin said they are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
