Authentic Davao products will soon be showcased under one roof as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is fashioning a template of a “pasalubong center” which is geared to boost tourists’ experience as well as to provide a standard venue for locally-produced products, DTI Region 11 Director Marizon S. Loreto said. “We will make them experience how it is to be in Davao by selling them authentic Davao products,” Loreto said.

The project is in collaboration between the DTI and the Department of Tourism (DoT) in making a template of a pasalubong center that will yield to better products and fuel in more economic activities.

In a project briefer, DTI said it must also be noted that visits to the pasalubong center is a major activity of visiting tourists.

While this city has numerous pasalubong centers, an authentic Davao product showcase and an exciting tourist experience at the center are somehow not available in a visit here.

By coming up with a model pasalubong center, tourists would be provided with an authentic experience of how it is to be in the region.
