Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) regional director Benjamin Go warned those who plan to join the one-day nationwide transport the possibility of having their franchise canceled. "The moment they signed their franchise contract, they embraced their responsibility to serve the riding public. Now if they deprive the public, they are breaching their contract with the riding public," said Go.

Go was informed that the Transport of Mindanao for Solidarity, Independence and Nationalism (Transmission) declared a 100 percent participation of drivers and operators on the March 31 transport strike.

The transport groups are in protest to the spiraling prices of oil products as gasoline price increased up to P1.50 per liter.

The LTFRB regional director challenged the leaders of these transport groups to list all the participating drivers and operators, write a one-page sworn affidavit as a proof of their truthful petition.

"If I will have the list, then I tell you I can cancel their franchise. This is not just purely business here, they also have a responsibility to the public," Go added.

The official expects the one-day strike will impact on the riding public thus he called on

the public to prepare and expect the worse of a paralyzed transport system this Thursday.
