LPA spotted off Davao

A potential cyclone was spotted off Davao Saturday morning, bringing moderate to heavy rain in parts of Mindanao that could trigger landslides and flashfloods.

As of 4am Saturday, the low pressure area (LPA), which was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone, was located at 345 km east of Davao City (7.0°N, 129.0°E).

Weather bureau PAGASA said moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms can be expected in the regions of CARAGA, Davao and Soccsksargen. The rest of Mindanao may experience light to moderate rainshowers.

Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon could bring light to moderate rainshowers to the Ilocos Region and the Visayas and as well as the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Mindoro and Palawan.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have party cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers of thunderstorms, PAGASA said.
