After plane mishap, floods hit Davao City

Major roads in Davao City were hit by floods following strong rains on Wednesday night.

Davao City officials said among the roads flooded were Quimpo Blvd., R. Castillo and the Marfori and Matina highway.

The floodwaters reached knee-deep, which caused motorists and commuters to become stranded.

Power interruption also occurred in several areas due to lightning.

Weather bureau PAGASA said “heavy to intense rainfall” was observed in Davao City.

PAGASA also issued an “orange” rainfall alert at 9:25 p.m. in Davao Del Norte, North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Bukidnon and Lanao Del Sur.
