The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Davao Region has urged job seekers to avail themselves of the pre-registration for the Independence Day Job Fair on June 12. Allan Baban, DOLE regional office-in-charge of the Technical Support and Services Division, said the pre-registration is available online through the government-run website Phil-Jobnet from June 4 to 11. They have also set up pre-registration booth at each job fair venue at Abreeza Ayala Malls and NCCC Mall.
He said the pre-registration will cut short the application process, allowing applicants to go directly to the hiring officer for interview.
Baban said that as usual, application includes five steps: registration, shopping of the prospective jobs, validation of the application, interview, and evaluation.
He said the most in-demand jobs for overseas employment are household service workers, engineers, cooks, drivers, welders, service crews and cashiers. Needed for local employment are business process outsourcing (BPO) staff, information and technology (IT) specialists, engineers, factory workers, sales personnel, waiters/waitresses, accountants, human resource personnel, English teachers, medical technologists.
Baban said that based on the latest record, there are a total of 23,256 solicited jobs to be opened on June 12. Of the total, 4,581 jobs are from local and 18,675 from overseas.
He said the one-day job fair has so far 29 attracted participating companies, 52 of which are local and 27 are overseas.
