Davao economy improved under PNoy says Duterte

Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said Davao City attained economic improvement during the four years of the Aquino administration.
Duterte made the statement during his regular TV program ‘Gikan sa Masa, Para sa Masa’ on Sunday, July 27, a day before the 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Aquino.
But Duterte also clarified that he could not speak on the contributions of the Aquino administration to other areas in the country.
“I can only speak for Davao City”, Duterte said, adding that businesses in Davao, particularly for offshore business processing and call centers, have considerably improved resulting in higher employment rate.
Meanwhile, Davao City will celebrate the 2014 Kadayawan sa Dabaw next month and Duterte said security measures are already in place to secure the merrymakers, visitors and tourists.
“There would be strict implementation of security measures, it would be in parity with the gravity of the threat”, Duterte pointed out.
Kadayawan is an annual festival here attended by local and foreign visitors from all over the country.
Duterte is also the current chairperson of the Peace and Order Council (POC) in region 11.
