Davao Oriental gets new battalion commanders

The 10th Infantry Division on Monday announced the appointment of new commanders of its 67th and 28th Infantry Battalion, assigned respectively at Barangays Salingcomot and Corporacion, Davao Oriental. Brig. Gen. Ariel B. Bernando, 10th Infantry Division chief, said Lt. Col. Krishnamurti A. Mortela was appointed as head of the 67th Infantry Battalion while Lt. Col. Francisco F. Lorenzo as chief of the 28th Infantry Battalion.

Both are from Bulacan and members of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1992 and recipients of numerous awards and commendations from military and civilian entities.

Mortela replaces Col. Reuben Basiao while Lorenzo relieves Col. Leopoldo Imbang, Jr., who were both given new appointments.

Both outgoing officers were lauded by the Davao Oriental provincial government for creating an atmosphere conducive to a peaceful and developed living condition for both natives and tourists visiting the locality.
