DCPO: Holidays in Davao City generally peaceful

A police officer of the Davao City Police Office revealed a general peaceful and orderly Christmas and New Year revelries in Davao City.

Police Captain Rose Aguilar, spokesperson of the DCPO bared that the year 2021 was welcomed with relatively peaceful Davao City.

She said only nine persons were noted to have violated the curfew, three in the liquor ban and zero for the firecracker ban.

Aguilar disclosed street hooligans were apprehended in Barangay Wilfredo Aquino, Agdao on the New Year’s Day but were released after their respective cases were settled amicably.

However, she urged those who have pending complaints especially those who experienced contempt and derision on the streets to report to the nearest police station so that the perpetrators can be sued through regular filing of the case.

“Kung dili mo kalikay, naa gyuy pasaway, tama lang nga motug-an mo sa kapulisan aron mahatagan dayon ug pagtagad, (If you cannot avoid, there are people who just create mischiefs, it is right that you report to the police so actions can be taken)” Aguilar said.

She called on Davaoeños to start the year with good deeds and to shun away from illegal activities to avoid legal and social problems in the future.
