Davao City is donating financial assistance to provinces and towns affected by the flooding and landslides caused by bad weather from Tropical Depression Agaton over the past two weeks.

The donation will be P2 million for Davao Oriental and P500,000 each for the towns of Compostela, Monkayo, Montevista, and New Bataan in Compostela Valley province.

Davao Oriental Gov. Corazon Malanyaon, meanwhile, thanked the City Government of Davao for the cash donation.

Malanyaon used to be a city councilor of Davao before becoming the governor of Davao Oriental. She said she will buy palay seedlings from part of the proceeds of the donation.
