The Region-11 office here of the Department of Agriculture (DA-11) has granted the Davao City Agriculture Office some P80 million worth of projects last year. City Agriculture Office chief Leonardo Avila, III said the projects include, among others, farm-to-market (FMR) roads, post-harvest facilities, and equipment like four trucks, and funds intended for the enhancement of existing nurseries.

He added that the DA-11 provided the city with numerous planting materials like coffee, cacao, and rubber.

"This month and in December last year, part of the fund was released and over one million plastic bags that will be used for the nurseries. The plastic bags will be distributed to the various nursery sites in the city," Avila said.

He said about 90 barangay (village) agricultural workers are taking care of the city's 48 nurseries.
