Customers in downtown Davao and the southern part of Davao Light and Power Company's franchise will experience two 15-minute switching power interruptions on February 16 and 17, anytime between 12:01 a.m. to 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. to 5 a.m., respectively.

Communication Officer Ross Luga said the scheduled outages are necessary to facilitate the Preventive Maintenance Servicing (PMS) of Davao Light's Ecoland Substation and the upgrading of the Davao 69-kilovolt Line along Catalunan Pequeño and Mintal, for a more reliable power supply.

The outages are needed to give way to the Department of Public Works and Highways repair of the Bankerohan Bridge, he added.

He said the outages will affect customers situated in Puan, Mintal, Catalunan Pequeno, Bangkal, Matina, Ulas, Bankerohan, Downtown and Bajada. Some of Davao City Water District's pumping stations located in the areas mentioned will also be affected.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience of these scheduled power interruptions, but it assured that it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. There may be instances, however, when restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
