“I would like to thank Mayor Sara and his father, Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte for endorsing my candidacy,” Ejercito Estrada told the Tribune. “”Their endorsement would be a big boost to my candidacy and I expect that to amplify in the not only in Davao City but in the whole Davao Province. We share mutual admiration for each other,” he added.
Ejercito Estrada also bared that the elder Rodrigo also lived in San Juan City when he was still studying so that even then, they were already acquaintances.
“Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte used to live in San Juan when he was till studying,” said Ejercito Estrada.
The other day, during the gathering of the PCL, Duterte openly endorsed ejercito Estrada citing his track record first as mayor of San Juan and now as congressman.
“I have known JV for a long time and I firmly believe that he is highly qualified to join the ranks of the Upper Chamber of Congress where he can push his key advocacies, such as education,” Duterte said in a statement.
“JV is among the new crop of lawmakers whom we can trust to pursue reforms in various aspects of our national life,” Duterte added.
Duterte said the San Juan lawmaker would be a definite asset to the Senate if given an overwhelming mandate by the electorate in the May polls.
