Davao-made movie soon to hit cinemas

THE Davao-made international movie "Sabine" will hit the cinemas on December 17.

The movie was filmed in various locations in Davao City, including Bankerohan Market, Buhangin Gallera, MacArthur Hihgway and San Pedro Cathedral.

It stars Dabawenya Valerie "Bangs" Garcia, in her first international movie, featuring Gwen Garci, Felix Roco, James Monson, Mon Confiado, Daniel Mandehr, David Bianco, Leon Miguel, Raul Morit, Jennifer Blair-Bianco, Abe Pagtama, Ruben Gonnzaga, China Roces, Bonz Militar.

"Sabine" is a story written by author Tom Anthony (Rebels of Mindanao) and directed by Ian Del Carmen (Dream Girl, Bad Romance). It is produced by the Davao Entertainment International Corporation (DEIC).

The movie depicts the story of a girl named "Sabine" from countryside who is brought into the city by a cockfighter, only to be abused by him.

She will face extreme physical harm and new experiences as she intended to run away and go into hiding from those people whom she met and caused so much pain on her.

When asked about the importance of the movie to be watched, Ian Del Carmen replied: "It's a must-see movie for it portrays some social issues our community is facing nowadays." He also added that "The movie will teach us a lesson on how did a pitiful and aggravated person forgives those people whom inflicted grudge on her."

"Sabine's premiere night and mall show will be held at the Gaisano Mall of Davao on December 17. Another screening will be held at the Gaisano Mall Tagum branch on December 18 with the appearances of some of the casts.
