BIR enlists TV host in receipt awareness campaign

Famous television host Boy Abunda is the new face of Bureau of Internal Revenue's Premyo sa Resibo (PSR) as launched Saturday (December 4) at SM Davao Events Center, simultaneously held along with the 1 Million Peso Monthly Draw.

In a video presentation shown to Davao audience, Abunda stressed how he appreciates the program as it encourage the public to religiously ask for receipt and at the same time shower prizes to lucky winners. "Sa PSR naitataguyod ang importanteng kaugaliang paghingi at pagbigay ng tamang resibo sa bawat pinansyal na transaksyon. Resibo anng pangunahing basehan ng buwis na syang nagiging pondo ng bayan para sa mga proyekto't programa na mamamayan ang nakikinabang," he said.

The PSR team also believes on the credibility and image of Abunda in helping the bureau call for more Filipinos to value the importance of receipts.

Davao City was the host in this month's monthly draw held last December 4. The team raffled off all entries sent from October 16 up to the midnight of December 2.

The receipt having a TIN number AH456DCB is the winning entry. Philweb Project Manager Rhodell Valdez clarified that the name of the winner is yet to be announced next week as the entry will have to be verified and the winner will have to be informed first before announcing it.

The PSR team also announces the weekly PSR Swerte Draw, picking two lucky entries to win P25,000 each. The draw is held every Monday at the BIR office. Other instant prozes include P5,000, MyPhone cellphones and cellphone loads.
