Foreign investors expected to attend huge Davao investment confab in June

Around 1,000 investors are expected to gather here in June for the Davao Investment Conference (Davao ICON), Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc.(DCCCII) president Arthuro Milan bared on Monday afternoon.
Milan said the DCCII has invited local and foreign companies to gather here on June 20 to 21 for them to see the strength and establish their businesses in the city.
He said there were already groups such as the Sarawak Business Federation in Malaysia and, the cities of Kitakyushu and Hitachinaka in Japan express their interest to join the event.
Milan said aside from these international business groups, the DCCII will also go to China on May 8 to invite business groups there to participate in the conference.
“We want this, as much as possible, an international investment conference and our dream will be a reality with the participation of the foreign chambers of commerce,” he said.
He said they will invite different industry sectors for them to know the potential businesses that could be established here.
Milan said their group also wanted to balance different businesses here such as manufacturing and agri-business sector for more job opportunities for the people here in the city.
He said they will also be inviting world-renowned Chinese businessman Jack Ma of Alibaba Group to be one of the speakers in the event.
“His presence will give a big impact to the event because he is an international figure in terms of entrepreneurship and he speaks a lot of entrepreneurship,” he said.
Milan said they are now asking the help of Chinese Consulate Office and other groups for his invitation and hopefully the international businessman will grant their request.
