25k jobs to be offered in Davao City job fair

Some 25,000 jobs will be up for grabs for Davao region residents on Friday, when the Department of Labor and Employment's Region 11 unit holds its job fair in Davao City.
The DOLE will hold job fairs in four venues in the region on May 1, Labor Day, GMA Davao reported Tuesday.
Of the four, two are to be held in two malls in Davao City. A third will be held in a mall in Tagum City, while a fourth will be held at the Darong Gym in Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur.
At stake are 24,852 jobs with 135 establishments.
Lawyer Jason Balais, OIC assistant regional director of the Labor Department in Region 11, said these include 4,352 local and 20,500 overseas jobs.
Balais said jobs include local and overseas call center agents, customer service representatives, construction workers, sales representatives and office staff and administrative clerks.
Since April 24, some job applicants had availed of pre-registration.
Meanwhile, the jobs fair will have a one-stop shop to help jobseekers comply with requirements in their job applications.
"They have to come prepared, kailangang handa sila. Presentable humarap sa mga prospective employers, at handa rin sa mga questions nga itatanong. Ang importante talaga is to look for jobs na nag-match sa kanilang skills," Balais said.
