The Sandiganbayan Third Division has dismissed the graft case filed by former House Speaker Prospero Nograles against Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and 5 public officers under him. The case stems from Duterte's alleged demolition of the Canal-Cover Project at Quezon Blvd., Davao City, which was funded by the government in the amount of P2 million.

The project was made to prevent flooding caused by clogged garbage being thrown into the open canal.

The court did not find probable cause to pursue the case.

"The court saw no reason to hold the accused for trial and expose them to public accusation of the crime when no probable cause exists," the anti-graft court said.
